Doing what I love to do… Travel Writing. Time for a change.

Time for a change guys.

It’s been another two and a half months since I last wrote a post promising more posts will follow very soon. Oh well.. not a single one since then My head is exploding!! …soooo many things that want to be written down. Impressions, experiences, feelings, opinions, thoughts, ideas, whatsoever. I wish my thoughts could be immediately converted into visible words by just thinking of them. Does that make sense? Uhm, well, thinking about it twice…better not. It might be a good idea to keep some of my crazy thoughts and ideas just for myself

I’ve been telling myself, “Oh men… I wish I had time to treat my blog with sweets again!” But I figured, it’s a wonderfully STUPID excuse to keep myself away from doing what I love to do. Instead of waiting to have time…

I’ll TAKE that time!

Writing has become my PASSION and so do I love taking you along on my globetrotter experiment. You might not be here sitting next to me right now. But reading this, you’ve already become part of my thoughts and feelings

There’s just one thing I’ve been struggling with.

I’ve started this blog in German since the initial idea of it was to take my family and friends back home in Germany with me on my travels. But the more steps my feet (or airplanes, buses, cars, (NOT motor)bikes, …) are carrying me around the world, the more people I get to know who speak any other but the German language and would like to follow me on my journey, too. (I hope I won’t disappoint you guys once you will actually be able to understand my writings!)

It sounds silly but this decision making has been making me sick since I absolutely do want to blog in English (ideally bilingual but for that…TAKING that much time would either put me in trouble at work or result in less traveling and thus less adventures to write about and thus… well you get it ^^) but (I just lost track!) ..uhm.. so yeah I absolutely do want to blog in English but I still want my dear ones back home to be able to follow me as well. So, I’ve made a decision:

I’m going to blog in English from now on

Oh, did I already mention where you can find me right now? I have to tell you a short story (which usually means a short novel in “Carmen terms” – you’ll get to know that!).

A special friend of mine from Australia emailed me this morning. I met her in Hamburg, Germany during my waitress career last year. She’s an opera singer and was going to stay in Hamburg for a few years. I last emailed her in April when I was about to be hired by a primary school in paradise – on the beautiful Mexican island of Cozumel in the Caribbean Sea – to teach super sweet 3rd and 5th grade students. She told me that things have taken “an interesting turn” for her in the meanwhile – she’s now in Seattle for a great new opportunity. And then she said, “I am thrilled to hear that you got the job for which you applied and have been working in paradise How is it going now??!”

Well… That WAS going great and a very valuable experience!

But I’m in MALAYSIA in the meanwhile!

Oh, and I’ve radically changed my career! From a marketing and sales manager to waitress to international education assistant to babysitter to… an English Teacher! At the moment. Well, I think my heart has finally (or already? for now? for ever?) led me to THE career! I looooooove teaching! I believe exactly zero people including me have expected that to happen But look…

 

You’ll get to know me a little bit through my posts. I love doing the unexpected, proving the uncommon. My feet don’t fit into other people’s foot steps and always chase me out of my comfort zone into… who knows where but I absolutely love that place! So yeah…

Footnote: I will most likely not have time to translate all of my previous posts into English. But hey, that’s ok. I’ve been on this journey for ONLY a little bit over a year. And it feels like I’ve just STARTED!

I’ve been following my heart and it surprises me every time I’m thinking about my next destination. Because I always end up somewhere totally unexpected!

And I looooove it!
